Reports in recent days have linked Jose Mourinho with a move for German midfielder Sami Khedira with Petr Cech possibly moving on loan the other way. What do you think about a possible January swap deal?
With a quote taken from Petr Cech last week, for the first time revealing his frustrations at a lack of first team football this season, you have to expect that all sorts of speculation about his future and a January move will appear from now, until the end of the season.
The Sami Khedira link to Chelsea and Jose Mourinho in particular isn't new. Ever since the boss rejoined Chelsea, there has been a constant link with the midfielder coming here. That seemed to have died a death with reports that Arsenal had made him one of their prime targets for the January window but now it appears Chelsea are well and truly back in contention.
The reason? Carlo Ancelotti being linked with Petr Cech and taking him to Madrid!
It's common knowledge that Iker Casillas has his issues at the moment and they stem from Jose's time in Madrid as he was dropped by the boss from being a regular first teamer.
It seems that under Ancelotti, Casillas is still not his preferred option and it had been reported that the Spanish club had identified David De Gea as their choice to replace Casillas.
However, it appears that the revelation from Cech has alerted Ancelotti and he is preparing to make Chelsea an offer to take him on loan for the remainder of the season. Whether or not a loan deal would be acceptable for Mourinho or a permanent deal involving Khedira as the preferred choice, we will just have to wait and see.
What do you people think of a possible swap deal involving these two?
