Manchester United defender Phil Jones is set to be out of action for two weeks due to a knee injury. Phil Jones was an integral part of David Moyes’s squad this season.
According to BBC, the 21-year-old defender will be missing the FA Cup third-round tie versus Swansea City, as well as the League Cup semi-final against Sunderland on 7 January. David Moyes seems to have given the 21 year old English international a new position as a central midfield and Jones has impressed under the new position. Jones will also miss the premier league fixtures against Norwich and Tottenham.
Brazilian right-back Rafael also limped out of the 3-2 win at Hull with a groin injury adding to Manchester United’s defensive woes. Manchester United already have Marouane Fellaini, Robin van Persie, Nani and Michael Carrick injured and the injury of Phil Jones could cause Manchester United problems if they fail to replace him with a player in the upcoming winter transfer window.
