India play the Philippines at the Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri later today with the guests boasting of a squad, which has mostly European-born football and amongst them is Berlin-born Patrick Reichelt.
Patrick Reichelt, who has experience of playing for Nordberliner SC 74, Reinickendorfer Füchse, Energie Cottbus II and TSG Neustrelitz in Germany before moving to Global FC in the Philippines and now playing for Thai Premier League side Singhtarua.
Speaking about the match against India, Patrick Reichelt said, “I’m confident enough to say that we can dominate this game with the squad we have available. But without forgetting that India is a strong side which can be dangerous all the time.”
“I wasn’t able to play the game around two years ago when we won. But I saw some videos from recent games where you can see that have some good individuals in the team,” Reichelt added.
Also speaking about the I-League, the midfielder Reichelt said, “From what I heard the I-League is on a good way and good level already. So it’s an advantage for their local players compared to ours in the Philippine UFL. I myself played in Thailand last season but heard good things about the Indian league and could also see me playing here one day.”
