Azkals striker Angel Guirado has been released by Goan team Salgaocar in the mid-season. The club officials were not very happy with his average performance in his time at Salgaocar. As a result, after finishing his national duty, when he came back to Goa, the Salgaocar management told him to leave immediately.
Angel was a very important player for his national side, which recently went to the the semi-final of the AFF Suzuki Cup. He also scored a couple of goals for his country. Being an integral part of his national team, most of the time he was busy with his national duty. Salgaocar also release Aussie star Sean Rooney earlier in this season also for his unsatisfactory performances.
Meanwhile, the Goan side is deep in the relegation zone after the completion of 11 rounds. Under the supervision of their newly appointed coach David Booth in place of their former Karim Bencharifa, the only game Salgaocar have won was yesterday’s match against Air India.
As per the latest report, the Goan side is in contact with the Brazilian and Prayag United player Josimar Martins, and is expected to sign him in the upcoming transfer window.
