United face Liverpool on Sunday, and heading into the game all the talk is about two things: the pre-match handshake and the behaviour of the fans. Leaving the whole saga with regards to Munich and Hillsborough aside, the focus is on whether or not Patrice Evra and Luis Suarez will finally shake hands and move on from the racism saga that’s dragged on for months. Last season Evra, offered his hand to Suarez, but remarkably, the Uruguayan refused to shake his hand.
From a United point of view, a different topic that’s caused a great amount of debate so far this week is which left back do we start with? Patrice Evra is obviously the more experienced of our choices, but I expect he’ll have to put up with constant chanting and berating from the Scousers. Equally, he’s been a liability in numerous games over the last few years and cost us games with his sloppy defending. The alternative is Alexander Büttner who had an excellent debut against Wigan on Saturday, but is much more inexperienced than Evra and looks like a very raw and potentially dangerous talent.
