One of the most popular soccer club from the land of Messi and Maradonna, Boca Juniors have launched their Boca Juniors Football School India (BJSFI) in Bangalore.
The Argentinian club have produced some legends in the game of Soccer which includes Diego Maradona, Gabriel Batistuta and Carlos Tevez. With this launch, Boca Juniors too have joined the list of popular international soccer clubs to make their foray on the Indian shores.
While clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal, Bayern?Munich and Barcelona have already set up camps, Boca Juniors will be the first from Latin America to set a shop here. The first camp will be held at the APB ground here from June 10 to 14.?The year-long camp will be held in various venues across the City from July 1.
“Football is growing in popularity in India year by year and we strongly believe we can play a role in developing the sport,” Daniel Angelici, chairman of Boca Juniors.
At a time when all popular soccer clubs and academies have realised the huge scope for Soccer in India, BOCA JUNIORS decision to start their soccer school is nothing strange.
But the big question which still remains is, are these academies really going to help in the overall development of soccer in India and improve the level of soccer in India ? and will the talented children from economically weaker background be able to afford coaching from these academies which usually charge a huge fee ?
