Porto President: "I Wouldn't Trade Hulk, Even For Cristiano Ronaldo"

Hulk

Porto president Pinto da Costa believes that the club’s Brazilian star striker Hulk is as good as Cristiano Ronaldo and added that he wouldn’t trade the player even for the Real Madrid star.

Hulk, along with his teammates Radamel Falcao, Alvaro Pereira, Joao Moutinho and Rolando, have all been a big-money transfer target of a number of European clubs after a successful season with Porto. However, da Costa says it would take a monumental offer for the Portuguese champions to let go of their stars.

Speaking to Porto Canal, da Costa said:

“It may sound like a heresy, but I would not trade Hulk for Cristiano Ronaldo. It is my opinion, perhaps the coach will say different. If we consider Ronaldo’s price, we can consider that it is possible that someone pays €100m for Hulk.”

Porto are believed to have rejected a €80M bid for Hulk from an unnamed club.

Da Costa also laughed off rumors linking Falcao’s departure to Atletico Madrid, the Madrid based club are believed to be on a lookout for a striker to replace Sergio Aguero.

“If any club were to pay for him, they would have done it already. But there are not many clubs who spend that kind of money on one player: there is Real Madrid when they want it, Barcelona after they discuss it a lot, Chelsea, now Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City. When I read about Atletico Madrid’s interest, I can only laugh.”
