Disclaimer: In this article, the author has assumed that certain transfers will take place. So the lineup includes players who are not presently at Manchester United, but who the author assumes will be at Old Trafford before the start of next season. The opinions expressed are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of Sportskeeda.

GK: David de Gea

The PFA Goalkeeper of the Year 2013 was a standout performer for the club last season. Also, considering his age, United won’t let de Gea go, who himself is happy at the club and has denied reports of moving back to Spain in the near future.

RB: Rafael Da Silva

This young Brazilian has been a consistent performer for United and considering the lack of right-backs at MUFC and also his new contract extension which keeps him with the club till 2016, he has forged his place into the United first team for yet another season.

CB: Nemanja Vidic

Captain, Leader, Legend are the words that come to one’s mind when his name is first heard. He needs to live up to this by not ditching Manchester United and staying for some more time.

CB: Rio Ferdinand

After penning down another one year deal, the 34-year-old looks almost certain to end his career at Manchester as he would not like to switch clubs at this stage in his playing career.

LB: Alex Sandro

This FC Porto fullback from Brazil (all talents come from there) is immensely talented and can be a perfect replacement for the uncertain and old Patrice Evra. Manchester United have been linked to him for some time now.

CM: Michael Carrick

He played 36 of 38 matches last season in the league, which is quite good for a player of his age. His inclusion in the contenders for the PFA Player of the Year was quite a boost to his reputation.

CM: Marouane Fellaini

Fellaini, beyond doubt, had the best season of his career with Everton, helping them secure 6th spot in the Premier League. Also, David Moyes has openly favoured him and expressed a desire to work with him again.

LW: Cristiano Ronaldo

Rated by many as the best player at the moment, the Real Madrid talisman has expressed his sadness with Real Madrid numerous times after moving from MUFC in 2009. According to reports, he has rejected a new contract renewal and also put his house up for sale. Re-signing the 2008 Player of the Year would be a dream start for David Moyes at Manchester United as Ronaldo can help United retain the PL and also in winning the other elite competitions.

RW: Antonio Valencia

He remains the top choice for the right-wing spot as, for bringing Ronaldo back, they would need to sell Nani to arrange funds. Reports have also emerged that Nani is unhappy at United and has told a friend that he wants to leave. On the other hand, Valencia had a good amount of starts for United last season and could play well alongside Ronaldo next year if he puts in the desired efforts.

CF: Wayne Rooney

The former Everton striker can be convinced to stay at MUFC by none other than the boss, David Moyes (former Everton Manager). This reunion would be interesting and if United sign Ronaldo, Rooney might agree to stay.

ST: Robin Van Persie

This Dutchman is undoubtedly the best striker in the league after two solid seasons, one with Arsenal and one with MUFC, emerging as top scorer in both. The former PFA Player of the Year will want to add more silverware to his limited account before the end of his career.
