The Premier League continues apace with the big guns in action after their midweek European exertions. Manchester City and Manchester United lead the way, although Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool are all hot on their heels.
Down at the opposite end of the table, West Ham, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace will hope to reverse their bad starts to the season.
Here are the predictions for this week's Premier League action:
Huddersfield vs Tottenham Hotspur - 5 PM IST, Saturday, 30/09/2017
Not many would have predicted that the two teams would be separated by only two points come the end of September, but here we are. Harry Kane is in the form of his life, and even though David Wagner has inspired Huddersfield to some improbable results, this might be a bridge too far. Mauricio Pochettino will ask that his side earn all three points, and after comfortable beating APOEL in their midweek UEFA Champions League tie, the omens all point to a comprehensive win for Spurs.
Prediction: Huddersfield 1-3 Tottenham Hotspur
Manchester United vs Crystal Palace - 7:30 PM IST, Saturday, 30/09/2017
Two perfect records, but of very different kinds. Manchester United are unbeaten in the Premier League, while Crystal Palace sit rock bottom without any points on the board. Roy Hodgson could not have asked for any two tougher opening fixtures than facing the Manchester giants, but that's what the fate has decided for him. Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are in stunning form, with the result that Jose Mourinho's side has barely felt the effects of Paul Pogba's absence so far. Nothing less than three points will do, and the Red Devils could give Palace their second hammering in as many weeks, especially since Christian Benteke
Prediction: Manchester United 4-0 Crystal Palace
Chelsea vs Manchester City - 10:00 PM IST, Saturday, 30/09/17
Undoubtedly the standout fixture of the entire week, and probably the hardest to predict, Chelsea welcome Manchester City in an early title-race-affecting clash of the Premier League season. Despite needing injury time to grab a crucial away win to Atletico Madrid in midweek, Chelsea looked utterly dominant throughout, in keeping with their Premier League form, having thrashed Stoke City 4-0 last time out. Pep Guardiola's side are in stellar form too, having decimated Palace and Shakhtar in their last two games. However, City look the better side going forward, and that may decide this tie for them by the narrowest of margins.
Prediction: Chelsea 1-2 Manchester City
Arsenal vs Brighton & Hove Albion - 4:30 PM IST, Sunday, 01/10/17
The Gunners have quietly racked up a couple of good results ever since their 4-0 evisceration at the hand of Liverpool, and Arsene Wenger's men will welcome the visit of Brighton having won their last 3 games in all competitions. However, 3 games in 6 days may have had its effects on the Gunners, although Arsenal did rotate heavily for their 4-2 win over BATE Borisov. With Alexandre Lacazette likely to start alongside Alexis Sanchez, the Gunners can expect another victory, if a bit unconvincing.
Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Brighton & Hove Albion
Newcastle vs Liverpool - 9:00 PM IST, 01/10/17
Rafa Benitez welcomes his former side to St.James Park, with his side able to go above Liverpool in the table with a win. Liverpool's finishing woes continued in midweek against Spartak Moscow, with Jurgen Klopp noting his inability to improve the finishing of his forwards. Newcastle do pose a threat with the weight of the massive crowd behind them, and with Benitez' sides unlikely to afford the space for Salah and Firmino to wreak their havoc, Liverpool could be blunted. However, the Reds could scrape a wn here, thanks to their superior quality.
Prediction: Newcastle 1-2 Liverpool
AFC Bournemouth 1-1 Leicester City - 7:30 PM IST, Saturday, 30/09/17
West Bromwich Albion 1-0 Watford - 7:30 PM IST, Saturday, 30/09/17
West Ham United 1-2 Swansea City - 7:30 PM IST, Saturday, 30/09/17
Stoke City 2-0 Southampton - 7:30 PM IST, Saturday, 30/09/17
Everton 1-1 Burnley FC - 6:45 PM IST, Sunday, 01/10/17
