#1 The players need to step up their game
A lot of the blame for United's malaise has been placed at the foot of Jose Mourinho's doorsteps, and while the manager is not without his faults, a large chunk of the blame should also go to Manchester United's underperforming players.
Manchester United has within its ranks some of the best players in the league, who are among the highest paid professionals anywhere in the world, and it is a great disservice to United fans worldwide to see their players put up shambolic performances week in week out.
There is no single United player who is having a great season, and considering that the most expensive midfielder and player (Pogba), most expensive striker (Lukaku) and highest paid player in the league (Sanchez) all play at Old Trafford, this is rather appalling.
Despite their issues with their manager, the onus in on Manchester United's players to take to the field and do their talking on the pitch. However, that is not the case.
Pogba, Sanchez, De Gea, Lukaku but to mention a few are seasoned internationals who have played at the highest level for many years, so to regularly put up no-shows is not only an embarrassment to United's fans, but also a massive disservice to the rich heritage and tradition associated with the red of Manchester United.
With Mourinho's future as United manager in increasing doubt, the player's would want to step up their game to save what is left of their season, and they would seek to start off with a statement performance against Newcastle United.
