The Premier League is always churning out new footballers every year and at times players who were never expected to perform turn out to become stars in the making.

At times, especially the smaller clubs, decide to invest in youngsters from the Championship or even the lower leagues and players like Jamie Vardy, Dele Alli, Michail Antonio, and Chris Smalling are just a few examples of players who have surprised everyone and made it big in the Premier League.

This season was no surprise either and Eddie Howe and Bournemouth did an excellent piece of business over the summer with Sheffield United by signing David Brooks. The 21-year-old signed for The Cherries for £11.5 million and while the fee was certainly high for the Welsh attacking midfielder, given the way he has performed so far, it's fair to say he has been worth every penny.

Brooks could follow in the footsteps of Ian Rush, Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, and Ryan Giggs and become the next top Welsh footballer.

Given that this is his first season in the Premier League, not a lot was expected from him, but he has definitely exceeded expectations. Brooks has scored six goals and assisted four goals so far this season and some of them have come against top clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and most recently Chelsea.

Brooks has the talent to become the next star from Wales.

Brooks made his first team debut with Sheffield United in the 17/18 season and impressed from the get-go scoring three and assisting five in 30 appearances. This one season with The Blades' first team was enough to convince Bournemouth to sign the attacking midfielder and they have had no reason to look back.

Eddie Howe and Bournemouth have always hit the jackpot while recruiting young and unknown players and players like Callum Wilson, Joshua King, and Ryan Fraser are just a few examples.

The Welsh international averages almost 2 shots per game and puts in at least 1 key pass per game. He is also fouled quite often and this just goes to show how talented he is.

He has amazing vision, has pinpoint accuracy and despite being more attacking minded, he is not afraid to run back and put in a defensive shift for his team. And last but not least, like every good attacking midfielder, he is always a threat on the counter-attack and is always excellent from freekicks.

Brooks might be injured at the moment, but as soon as he gets fit you can expect to see him get right back into the Bournemouth starting 11. At 21 and in his first season in the Premier League, he still has a long way to go, but if he continues to perform this way you can expect a top European club to come after him for a huge transfer fee.
