3rd Place: Chelsea
Chelsea are undergoing a period of transition yet they haven’t let it affect their performance on the pitch. After parting ways with Conte, they appointed another Italian, Maurizio Sarri, to reclaim Premier League glory.
Sarri is the polar opposite of Conte and relies on an attack-first approach. The approach has already gotten the Chelsea fans excited. They have been sensational since the start of their campaign, playing attractive football.
Arizzabalaga has been solid between the sticks while Jorginho has been the orchestrator of their smooth football. Their talisman, Hazard has set the world alight with his performances and looks an early contender for Player of the Year.
However, Chelsea have looked a little vulnerable defensively. The pairing of Rudiger and David Luiz has looked shaky at times. Their encounter with Arsenal exposed their frailties. Though it ended in their favour, Sarri would want his team to cut out those defensive shortcomings.
Chelsea would play a major part in the title race but I expect them to fall short at the final hurdle due to their defence not being sound enough.
