Premier League 2018-19: Preview & predictions for Gameweek 20

Another exciting round of matches awaits Premier League fans in Gameweek 20. Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool is looking good for a first ever league title in the Premier League era. The Reds have been immaculate this season, and they remain unbeaten after 19 games (the first round).

Manchester City’s implosion has helped Liverpool’s cause. The defending champions were ahead by 2 points as recently as Gameweek 15. However, a run of 3 losses in four games has derailed Pep Guardiola’s men.

Tottenham Hotspur has stepped into the title fray in recent weeks, and Mauricio Pochettino’s side is yet to record a draw this season, recording 15 wins from 19 games.

Review of Gameweek 19

The Boxing Day round of games had kicked off with much anticipation, and it over-delivered in terms of goals and drama.

Leicester City extended Manchester City’s terrible run with a 2-1 win at the King Power Stadium. Ricardo Pereira’s long-range missile secured the win.

Liverpool continued its good run with a 4-0 thrashing of Newcastle United, as Everton flogged Burnley 5-1 at Turf Moor. A goal-crazy encounter at Wembley saw Tottenham Hotspur batter Bournemouth 5-0, while Manchester United dismissed Huddersfield Town 3-1.

At Craven Cottage, Fulham was held to a 1-1 draw by Wolves. It was a similar scoreline in the encounter between Brighton and Arsenal. Similar 1-2 scorelines also came about in the encounters between Watford and Chelsea, as well as between Southampton and West Ham.

Crystal Palace and Cardiff City played out a goalless draw.

Preview of Gameweek 20

Lots of things will be at stake on Gameweek 20. The action kicks off on Saturday, with a host of matches to look forward to.

Brighton will play host to Everton, as Fulham welcomes Huddersfield Town to West London. Similarly, Leicester City will play Cardiff City, while Tottenham Hotspur is at home to Wolves. Watford will welcome Newcastle United to Vicarage Road, while the star match sees Liverpool and Arsenal clash at Anfield.
