Fernandes would add significant strength to the centre of the pitch
The possibility of losing midfield maestro Christian Eriksen continues to get thicker for Tottenham. The midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away from the club since the summer transfer window, and it appears he could finally wave goodbye to White Hart Lane in January.

Should that end up being the case, there would be a need for reinforcement in the center of the pitch. The Spurs would need a top midfielder to help in dictating play and moving the ball forward into offensive zones.
Sporting CP's Bruno Fernandes would be a decent option for that role.
Fernandes remains one of the most impressive players in the Portuguese league at the moment. The midfielder has produced a whopping 515 overall passes and 29 dribbles so far this season. He also has 6 goals and 5 assists to his name from 9 appearances across all competitions.
With his ability to read the game, dictate team play and create clear-cut chances for his teammates whilst also finding the back of the net himself, Fernandes will surely bring a lot to White Hart Lane if Tottenham can secure his signature in January.
