Danny Ings (Southampton)
It may sound strange, but losing 9-0 to Leicester City has proved a bit of a blessing in disguise for Southampton. Since that shattering defeat, the Saints have been stronger as a unit, and have picked up some vital points over their relegation rivals. They still owe much to Danny Ings, whose goals have now helped them out of the relegation zone, as he took his season tally to 11 after netting a brace against Aston Villa.
Troy Deeney (Watford)
At times this season, Watford have lacked Deeney’s fight and desire, with the striker missing much of the early months of the season with injury. He was back at his best against Manchester United on Sunday, bullying the likes of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof, and showing that he really is up for this relegation battle. He capped off his fine display with a goal from the spot.
Oli McBurnie (Sheffield United)
Sheffield United spent a lot of money on striker Oli McBurnie last summer, paying a club record £20 million fee to sign the Scot from Swansea City. He has found chances limited though, with Chris Wilder often opting for a strike partnership of David McGoldrick and Lys Mousset. However, McBurnie has taken his chances when it has come his way, and he did once again on Saturday, scoring the winner against Brighton.
