Loser: Wilfried Zaha
Wilfried Zaha loses out in the transfer window and it isn't even his fault. Zaha, who has been performing considerably well at Crystal Palace in the last three seasons, getting his goal and assist output into double digits each time, was poised to move away.
There were bidders for him, too. Everton looked at Zaha as an option but they were priced out of a deal and had to turn their attention away and sign Alex Iwobi from Arsenal instead.
Crystal Palace raised their asking price to around £80 million, which was not a feasible one for both Arsenal and Everton. The team management's stubbornness in trying to milk other clubs for a player like Zaha seemingly backfired on them.
Zaha now has to let go of the past, put his head down, and go again. That's the only option he has until at least next January. He dreamed of playing European football but he won't be doing that, for now.
