#2 Jan Vertonghen
When you're up against a team as powerful as Manchester City, it's imperative that your defence are on top of their game, and in Tottenham's case, they were.
Jan Vertonghen, in particular, had a smashing game at the back. Aguero didn't know what to do, as he was being shepherded out of the match entirely by one defender until he was substituted for Gabriel Jesus in the 71st minute.
The same goes for Raheem Sterling. He came close a couple of times but ultimately failed to make much of an impact in the game. Pep Guardiola must have left Spurs' new stadium seething with rage at how weak his side were.
Vertonghen has been linked with many top European clubs ahead of the summer transfer window and it's very easy to see why.
