Everton were still in the match after going down by a by Jamie Vardy, but a mistake by Jonjoe Kenny proved too costly for Everton. Kenny, who was making just his third Premier League appearance of the season, had a miserable afternoon at the King Power Stadium that was highlighted by his costly error just short of the half-hour mark.

Following a fast-flowing counter-attack, Demarai Gray sent a low cross into the penalty area which the 20-year-old had the misfortune of slicing into his own net, past the rooted Jordan Pickford in goal.

The goal was first thought to be an own goal but it was awarded to Demarai Gray who had no intention of scoring it! Kenny's mistake meant Leicester doubled their lead and managed to secure an impressive victory over David Unsworth's side in Claude Puel's first game in charge.
