As always another exciting weekend of premier league football which saw Manchester City thumping Spurs at the Etihad, Chelsea cruising to a comfortable victory and a mouth watering goal filled Merseyside Derby. Arsenal managed to skim past Southampton as Cardiff stole a point from Manchester United in the dying minutes of the game. Let’s take a look at the top 11 players who did not make it well this week.
Goal Keeper – Artur Boruc (Southampton)Just as heaps of praises were falling on Boruc’s head for playing a huge role in Southampton’s defense this season, he decided to step it up a notch and dribble the opponent. Giroud took full advantage of Boruc’s blunder in giving Arsenal the lead.
Left Back – Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham Hotspur)Vertonghen was playing in his less favoured position in a night to forget for the Belgian. Put in some lazy performance which ended with Navas scoring the 6th goal for Manchester City.
Centre Back – Michael Dawson (Tottenham Hotspur)The captain was exposed badly by his lack of mobility leaving the skipper completely clueless with the pace and strength of Negredo and Aguero.
Centre Back – Younes Kaboul (Tottenham Hotspur)Another player who couldn’t handle the attacking pace and movement of Manchester City. Looked clumsy throughout the game.
Right Back – Guy Demel (West Ham United)His poor decision making with the back pass almost landed a red card to his keeper who had no other option but to give Lampard a chance from the spot to put Chelsea in front.
Left Wing – Aleksander Tonev (Aston Villa)Looked as if he didn’t know what he was supposed to do constantly failing to find the puzzle that linked the midfield and attack.
Centre Midfielder – Joe Allen (Liverpool)Had the chance to nail the game for Liverpool with a 2 goal cushion, going one-on-one with Howard but didn’t even seem like he wanted to score that goal, blowing away a great chance.
Centre Midfielder – Paulinho (Tottenham Hotspur)Looked out of sorts after the international break. The Brazilian was very wasteful on the ball and never provided with any attacking options for Tottenham.
Right Winger – Joe Cole (West Ham United)Facing his former club Chelsea for the first time, didn’t get much to do as he was subjected to a tactical change by Sam Allardyce who replaced Cole in the first half.
Centre Forward – Dimitar Berbatov (Fulham)Has managed only one goal so far this season which saw another quiet game for Berbatov, who has been living under the shadow of Darren Bent – who himself is under his own shadow. That sums it up!
Centre Forward – Roberto Soldado (Tottenham Hotspur)Tottenham’s club record signing frontman has failed to impress yet again. Scoring only 1 goal from open play so far out of the 4 he scored this season (3 penalties) the Spaniard didn’t provide Manchester City with any threats on goal.
