The English Premier League’s team of the season which was chosen by the premierleague.com users has been revealed.
The best XI and a manager were selected on the basis of 12,000 user votes and they have implemented a 4-4-2 formation. The users have voted for each position from a shortlist of five players determined by their ratings in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index (PPI).
Arsenal players dominate the line up as 5 players have been selected from the North London outfit. Wojciech Szczesny features as the goalkeeper with 32% of votes ahead of Chelsea’s Peter Cech. Aaron Ramsey (43%) and Mesut Ozil (36%) take their place in the 4-man midfield while Oliver Giroud (58%) surprisingly partners PFA Player of the Year, Luis Suarez (73%) of Liverpool in attack.
Laurent Koscielny (42 %) concludes the Arsenal selections as he has been selected as one of the two centre backs in the team alongside Chelsea’s veteran defender John Terry (40%).
Everton has been represented by both the full backs of the starting 11 as Seamus Coleman (42%) and Leighton Baines (35%) have been preferred over the likes of Bacary Sagna, Pablo Zabaleta, Branislav Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta.
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard (75%) and his Anfield team-mate Jordan Henderson (54%) fills the remaining midfield slot while Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was selected by 52% of the voters as Manager of the season.
