Sergio Aguero
Sergio Aguero is one of those rare players who doesn’t seem to lose form. Compelled to stay out of the team for three games because of a ban seemed to have made no difference to Manchester City’s Argentine star.
He started the game against Swansea City and took less than 10 minutes to find the back of the net. His second goal of the night came from the spot after De Bruyne earned a penalty for the Citizens.
Jermain Defoe
It’s quite unfortunate that Jermain Defoe is stuck playing for Sunderland. Before the Black Cats lost to Crystal Palace, Defoe gave his team a two-goal lead. Needless to say, Defoe did not deserve to be on the losing side this week.
Honourable Mention: James Milner
The likes of Lionel Messi and Alexis Sanchez should take a page out of James Milner’s book on taking penalties. The central midfielder who has recently been occupying the left-back position netted two goals from the spot after Liverpool were awarded two penalties.
Not only was Milner defensively impressive but his forward runs throughout the game kept Liverpool a step ahead of Hull.
