Liverpool to abandon Alisson hunt
Massive news coming out of Merseyside reports that Liverpool are prepared to end their pursuit of AS Roma star Alisson Becker, according to The Independent.
The Brazilian has been on the wishlist of a number of European clubs and Jurgen Klopp's men were believed to be firm contenders in the race. But Liverpool have been unable to arrive at an agreement with Roma on the price tag as the Italian club values their goalkeeper for a fee of £70 million.
The Giallorossi are not willing to lose their number one for a lesser amount and are keen on avoiding the mistake they made last season when they sold Mohamed Salah for £36 million. This will mean that Liverpool will have to look elsewhere in the transfer market for a new shot-stopper.
The Reds have also been interested in Jan Oblak but Atletico Madrid may also demand a higher fee. This could mean that Klopp will have to assess other alternatives like Nick Pope, Alex McCarthy, Timo Horn or Jack Butland, as per the Mirror.
