Chelsea eyeing Atletico Madrid Star

Savic had an impressive last campaign for Atletico

Chelsea have been inactive this offseason as a lot of uncertainty looms around the club. But, this hasn't stopped them from being in the hunt for new players and according to Daily Star, the latest name to emerge in their shortlist is Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic

The Serbian has two years left on his contract in Madrid and is currently on international duty for the World Cup. Savic is quite familiar with the Premier League as he had an unsuccessful one year stint with Manchester City in the 2011/12 season.

The centre-back made 42 appearances in all competitions for Atletico last season, averaging five clearances and three long balls per game. However, the Blues will have to compete with Juventus for the signature of Savic who is believed to be worth for around €40 million.

Chelsea will have options next season with Kurt Zouma returning from his loan spell at Stoke City whereas someone like Kalidou Koulibaly would fit into their system perfectly if Maurizio Sarri takes charge in West London
