Arsenal nearing £50 million triple swoop
Arsenal have been moving swiftly in the transfer market under new boss Unai Emery. Following the capture of Stephan Litchsteiner, the Gunners are closing in on the £50 million-rated trio of Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Bernd Leno, and Lucas Torreira, the Evening Standard reports.
Torreira and Leno are believed to cost Arsenal for more than £20 million while Sokratis could end up arriving for £16 million. This will mean that Unai Emery will go over his limited transfer budget and may end having to sell in order to free some room in the transfer kitty.
Bernd Leno has been on the radar for the past month and is expected to take the place of Petr Cech in goal.
It is understood that the Gunners have triggered Torreira's release clause and agreed on the transfer for Sokratis but the official announcement of the duo's arrival is likely to be made next month.
