Yes, welcome to Friday's round of rumours as I am back again with some fresh rumours and a few updates on existing rumours. Today we have Manchester City and United being heavily linked with some players while Chelsea being the pick of the lot after courting three different players.
So, here we go!
#5 Stoke City and Burnley
According to Sabah, Stoke City have made a €16 million bid for Badou Ndiaye. However, his parent club Galatasaray want €20 million for the forward.
Meanwhile, after the signing of Theo Walcott and the return to fitness of Yannick Bolaise, Everton have reportedly let go of Aaron Lennon who will join Burnley if reports are to believed.
#4 Everton eye left-backs and some Palace updates
Well, Everton have been linked with a host of players all through the winter and they might just get someone finally. According to the Daily Mail, they are eyeing a move for Bayern Munich’s Juan Bernat. The left-back has found it difficult to break into the first team of the Bavarians, something that convinced Everton to put him on their radar.
Meanwhile, reports reveal that newly-signed midfielder Erdal Rakip will be loaned out to Crystal Palace by parent club Benfica. The 21-year-old was just signed on a free transfer by the Portuguese outfit.
In other reports, namely from Expressen, Crystal Palace want goalkeeper Robin Olsen and have made their first contact with his club, FC Copenhagen. Would be some signings, these.
#3 Tottenham-Leicester and West Brom
Yes, they are linked to the same player. According to the fairly reliable Spanish outlet that goes by the name of Marca, Tottenham and Leicester are chasing highly-talented Real Betis midfielder, Fabian Ruiz. The youngster has a €15 million release clause and is also being chased by Roma, who, according to the report, are the frontrunners.
Meanwhile, West Brom aren’t interested in signing Michel Lang, who plays for FC Basel as a right-back, report the Birmingham Mail. The same report also states that they have made an enquiry about Egyptian player Ali Gabr.
#2 Chelsea
Well, I guess if one were to believe the rumours, they would claim that the Blues have finally awoken from their slumber. They have been featuring consistently here and are likely to make some more signings before the window closes.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Chelsea are chasing two Roma players to strengthen their team. The two players are Emerson Palmieri—who is also being eyed by Liverpool—and former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.
Chelsea will apparently offer €50 million for the duo.
Meanwhile, The Telegraph claim that Chelsea are looking at Peter Crouch as an Andy Carroll alternative as the latter faces an ankle injury crisis. It seems as though Antonio Conte wants to try again for Fernando Llorente as Independent claim that he is interested in bringing him to Stamford Bridge.
#1 Manchester madness
In the midst of the Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United rumours, the players seem to have faded away in the sense that no new ones are being linked to the Red Devils. Nevertheless, today we have someone who’s being linked to the Old Trafford outfit.
Remember former Real Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder Lassana Diarra? Apparently, Jose Mourinho wants to add more bite to his midfield and has targeted Diarra, who is currently a free-agent, according to Le Parisien.
Meanwhile, the Guardian believe that Manchester United will lock horns with Manchester City over the signing of Nice’s Jean Seri in the summer. Also, there is a report from Mirror that states that Liverpool’s Emre Can is being eyed by Manchester City, but the deal depends on Liverpool’s pursuit of Leon Goretzka.
Finally, the infamous Don Balon is reporting that Jose Mourinho wants Gareth Bale at Manchester as he has promised the Welshman that he can make him the best in the world.
