Give me some props for doing this every single day. I am starting to believe that I am a social worker of sorts for keeping you informed with all the happenings in the transfer market. So without further ado, we are going to start the show.
And tonight’s entertainment includes a lot of clubs, starting from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Southampton, Liverpool, Manchester United (obviously) and West Ham United (obviously). Shall we begin?
Yes, we shall. So here goes…
#5 Newcastle and West Ham United
Rafa Benitez isn’t a man who will stay mum during the transfer window for a club that he deems could be improved by signings. And Newcastle are one such club. According to the Mirror, Rafa Benitez is keen on bringing in Benfica’s English forward, Chris Willock, on loan from the Portugal giants.
Willock is still a B team player for the Portuguese outfit but trains with the first team regularly.
Meanwhile, West Ham manager David Moyes is supposedly interested in acquiring the services of midfielder Joe Allen, claim the Mirror. The former Liverpool midfielder, who now plays for Stoke City, is said to be a top target for the former Manchester United manager.
With the way West Ham have been linked with players this month, I would like to believe that the Scot is a hitman and every player is his target.
#4 Crystal Palace and Liverpool
Another club that has been quite proactive in the rumours’ zone is Crystal Palace. Palace, who are coached by former England manager Roy Hodgson, have been subjected to a lot of talks regarding their star striker, Wilfried Zaha.
However, this one is about them attempting to sign a player instead of being on the giver’s end. According to the Sun, Hodgson wants the midfielder back at the club where it all started for him.
Meanwhile, fresh off from signing Virgil van Dijk for a record-breaking fee, Liverpool are not going to stop just there. Indeed, according to German outlet Bild, the Merseyside outfit are looking to sign Schalke star Leon Goretzka, whose contract ends by the end of the season.
The fact that Naby Keita will join the club in the summer makes this rumour all the more pleasing for the Reds’ fans.
#3 Pellegrino’s £75 million war-chest
With £75 million in his kitty, Pellegrino has a plethora of players to target to improve his team—and reports align with just that as the Telegraph claim that Southampton are looking to sign Liverpool forward, Daniel Sturridge, on loan from Liverpool.
Mauricio Pellegrino wants to improve his woeful attacking line up that has scored only 20 times in as many games this season and has targeted Sturridge as a result. Yeah, I know that sounds very absurd, but that's what it is.
Also, IBTimes report that Ryan Sessegnon is on the radar of Southampton, making him one of the most coveted players in the world now. And then there is a report from The Telegraph that the Saints have entered the race for Alfie Mawson, who is valued at £25 million.
#2 The North Londoners
Once again, I will begin alphabetically here. According to Le Butuer, a French outlet, Arsenal are closing in on Leicester City star, Riyad Mahrez, as a replacement for the potentially-outgoing Alexis Sanchez. The Foxes value the Algerian at £45 million, which is not bad considering how the market is right now.
And now for Tottenham Hotspur to enter the show.
According to TalkSport, Spurs are set to cut short Vincent Janssen’s loan spell at Fenerbahce and recall him in January. They cited two reasons for that: Fernando Llorente’s inconsistency for the Lilywhites and a potential permanent sale of the Dutchman to Napoli.
Moving on, the same TalkSport also claim that Spurs are after Cedric Bakambu, who has scored 14 goals in 21 games this season, as a proper backup for Harry Kane.
Meanwhile, Daily Mail claim that Spurs are set to beat Real Madrid to the signing of 17-year-old whizkid, Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham.
#1 More Manchester madness
A day without Manchester United in the transfer window rumour section is not a good day at all. Life would have been really boring for us had they not existed. Anyways, without digressing any further, Manchester United have apparently made a £70 million plus Henrikh Mkhitaryan for Paulo Dybala, claim the Sun.
They also claim that the Argentina star is valued at £86 million by the Old Lady.
Also, according to Manchester Evening News, Mourinho wants a midfielder who can set the tempo in the middle of the park and has identified Napoli’s passing machine, Jorginho, as the man to do that.
The Brazilian has records like making 3343562 passes in one Serie A game and will be one hell of signing for a team willing to play possession football, which is something Mourinho always does.
Oh… wait… damn.
