Woof! Today is one hell of a day for us fidgety football fans. No less than 4 different Real Madrid players have been linked with a move to the Premier League, almost as though the Madrid outfit are running a charity house at the Bernabeu.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are on the verge of completing a major signing while West Ham and Everton also feature in this slideshow. So without further ado, let’s begin…
#5 Rafa’s revolution and Everton’s siege
According to Sky Sports, Rafa Benitez is on the lookout for players in order to refurbish his team. Sky say that they Spaniard is targeting four players, but Andy Carroll is not one of them. Benitez’s side hasn’t been on the scoring sheet quite often and desperately need players to solve that.
Meanwhile, Portuguese outlet A Bola believe that Everton are after Porto defender, Miguel Layun, who is also being targeted by plenty of clubs. Another report, this time from Daily Mail, claims that the Merseyside outfit will raid Manchester United.
As for Luke Shaw, the defender who hasn’t had a run in the first team in a consistent manner is likely to be interested in making the switch to make it to the World Cup in Russia.
#4 Liverpool and Saints
It is not really a good idea to put these two clubs together after the Virgil Van Dijk deal, but I will do it for the fun of it. The Saints have some money to spend now and have targeted many players to strengthen multiple areas.
And it seems like the no.9 is one of the positions they would like to upgrade as they are being linked with Monaco’s Guido Carrillo and have made a £17.5 million bid according to the Sun.
Meanwhile, according to Diario Gol, Real Madrid’s recent signing and midfield starlet, Dani Ceballos, is frustrated with the lack of game time and wants to join Liverpool and work under Jurgen Klopp.
#3 Chelsea
Some of the news regarding Chelsea isn’t all that great, but some are actually very good. I will always start with the worst ones and there can be nothing worse for Chelsea fans than to see Andy Carroll in a blue shirt—even as a ball boy.
According to Daily Mail, the Blues want Andy Carroll on loan from West Ham. The once-British-record signing is an option that Conte likes since he doesn’t really trust Michy Batshuayi all that much.
Meanwhile, Ross Barkley is on the verge of joining Chelsea for £15 million and is said to have undergone a medical, with the move to be sealed later today. When Conte was asked about it, he said that while the news will be confirmed by the club should it happen, the Englishman is a “fantastic investment.”
#2 West Ham and a bit of Arsenal
David Moyes is a man on a mission. After being ridiculed by the football fraternity for his apparent lack of depth at every job since Everton, he has a chance to redeem himself at West Ham—and the Scot needs players for that.
Speaking of which, according to Football Italia, West Ham are in pole position to acquire the signature of Watford’s midfield powerhouse, Etienne Capoue. While Fiorentina are the other club linked with him, the midfielder, rated at £12 million, is most likely to join the Hammers.
Meanwhile, Sky claim that Alfie Mawson is another player Moyes wants at the club—he is, however, going to cost somewhere around £25 million.
Also, it is as clear as the sky during a clear day that Alexis Sanchez is set to leave the Gunners and Don Balon claim that Wenger is looking at Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez to fill the void.
#1 Manchester madness
The old rumours are back as Toni Kroos to Manchester United is once again doing the rounds. The German is apparently one of the players that the Galacticos would consider selling in order to fund the transfer of Neymar, says Don Balon.
According to the report, he could bring in as much as £90 million and Manchester United are the prominent favourites to acquire his signature.
Don Balon also claims that Jose Mourinho has targeted Mateo Kovacic as a player who could solve the midfield conundrum at Old Trafford. That’s two of Madrid’s most talented midfielders linked with the Red Devils by the same outlet.
