Former Ajax star Ronald De Boer has praised Matthijs De Ligt for the great display of defending that he has shown this season. The youngster has been linked with many clubs so far, but Barcelona seem to be the favourites.

And De Boer thinks that the youngster has the talent to succeed at any club because of the personality that he possesses. He also added that Barcelona would be the best place for him to go followed by Manchester City and PSG.

“He is really good. Nineteen years and show all of this. Matthijs plays at an unprecedented high level. Both with the Netherlands and with Ajax,” De Boer said.

“He keeps going stoically, is great when he is standing in front of the camera. What a personality. He can go to just about any club. Barcelona, Manchester City or PSG – in that order – seem like the best options.”
