New lease of life for Gomes at Everton

Andre Gomes has regained his form at Everton after joining the Toffees in the summer on a loan deal. The Portuguese superstar lost his Valencia shine after joining Barcelona but seems to have gotten his career back on track at the Merseyside.

As a result, there is a chance that he makes his loan deal permanent. According to Everton director Marcel Brands, the club are keen on keeping him beyond the loan deal.

However, he also confirmed that it all mainly depends on the midfielder’s desire to stay at the Goodison Park.

"It is more depending on the player. After the January [transfer window], we will talk, first, with the player and the key is with him. We are happy with him but you never know what is going to happen. The most important thing is that he wants to stay," Brands said.
