#3 Rafa Benitez admits goalkeeper up for sale
While Rafa Benitez initially stated in his press conference that he wouldn’t be speaking about the transfer window, he did end up speaking about it in the end.
The Spaniard revealed that he wouldn’t speak about the transfer to the press as he discusses it daily with managing director Lee Charnley but then ended up talking about it anyway.
"I decided before I came to the press conference not to talk about the transfer window,” the former Real Madrid boss said.
"I speak to Lee Charnley every day but I decided not to talk about the transfer window."
However, Benitez then mentioned that while he is not keen to sell anyone, backup goalkeeper Rob Elliot is up for grabs.
"We are not interested in selling anyone. The only one (goalkeeper) that is available in the window is Rob Elliot."
