Sweden captain Andreas Granqvist has revealed that there is almost no chance for him to join Manchester United. After his terrific performances at the World Cup in Russia, Granqvist was named as one of the potential signings for the Red Devils.

The Old Trafford outfit had been linked with a lot of defenders over the course of the summer and Granqvist, in the end, just turned out to be a name in the rumour mill.

Speaking on whether he would go to the Old Trafford any time soon, the Swede admitted that while it would be a “sensational” thing to happen, it is nearly impossible for the 33-year-old to have a last hurrah at the Theatre of Dreams.

“With 99.9 percent certainty, we can kill the speculation here and now,” he said.

“It would be quite sensational, but I don’t think it will happen. Then I do not know if I want to. It’s with Helsinborgs I want to be.”
