#5 Arsenal sign Denis Suarez
At long last, Arsenal have completed the deal to bring Denis Suarez to the Emirates from Barcelona. The midfielder had been linked with the Gunners for a while now and the stories have finally come to fruition.
Upon signing for the north Londoners, Denis Suarez claimed that his desire is to qualify for the Champions League with the Emirates outfit and also win the Europa league title with the Londoners.
“I’ve come here to play as much as possible and try to help the team qualify for the Champions League,” he said.
“I’d like to win the Europa League with Arsenal too - why not? It’s a trophy I won under Unai Emery at Sevilla and I’d love to win it again here.”
He then spoke about Unai Emery and stated that he is extremely happy to be working with him again as not only is Emery a demanding coach but they also share a great relationship.
“I have a very good relationship with Unai Emery,” he said. “I spent a year with him at Sevilla when we won the Europa League.
“I think he’s a very demanding coach and one of the best coaches in the world right now - I’ve been saying that for a while.
“I’m really happy to have the chance to work with him again and I hope that the rest of the season is successful for me and the club.”
Meanwhile, manager Unai Emery also expressed similar views as he claimed that he already knows the player well and is happy that he joined.
“We are very happy that Denis Suarez is joining us,” Emery said. “He is a player we know well and I have worked with him at Sevilla.”
#4 Spurs could sell two players
Spurs might not be on the buying end of things but they certainly could be on the selling side. There are some rather unused players in the squad and they could be let go off according to journalist Ian Abrahams.
According to him, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Vincent Janssen could be on their way out as the former has interest from Monaco and the latter is on the radar of Burnley, Cardiff and Real Betis from Spain.
"Georges-Kevin N'Koudou will be leaving on loan to Monaco," he said. "It looks like one of their strikers could be leaving.
"Vincent Janssen, Burnley and Cardiff are both said to be interested and so too are Real Betis. They are also interested in the West Ham striker Lucas Perez."
#3 Manchester City and Newcastle
Manchester City have completed the signing of Croat teenager Ante Palaversa from Hajduk Split. The youngster is only 18 years of age and has been loaned back to his club for the rest of the season.
The deal could cost a reported £7 million.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United land a deadline day loan signing in the form of Antonio Barreca. The Italy U21 has joined the Magpies for the rest of the season from Monaco, where he was frozen out of the first team.
Upon joining, he said: "I know that Newcastle is a big and historic club. I know that the people here really love football and that the fans are really behind the team. I think that the Premier League is the best league, so for me this is further motivation to do well.”
#2 Martial signs new deal
Anthony Martial has ended speculation surrounding his future at the Old Trafford by signing a new deal at the club. Previously, he wasn’t too keen on signing an extension with Mourinho as the manager but things have rapidly changed after the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
After signing the extension, Martial thanked the Norwegian manager and the coaching staff for the belief they have in him and also for helping him become a better player with each passing day. He also believes that United aren’t far away from winning a title.
“I would like to thank Ole and his coaching staff for their belief in me and for helping me to take my game to the next level. This club is all about winning trophies and I am sure the next piece of silverware is not that far away,” he said.
#1 Chelsea
Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi could soon leave the club as journalist Ed Aarons stated that the Belgian has loan offers from both West Ham and Real Betis and that Chelsea have accepted them, which now leaves the decision of choosing on the player.
“Chelsea have agreed terms with West Ham and Real Betis over loan deal for Michy Batshuayi. Barring a late bid from Everton, player will decide where to go soon,” he said.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s connection with Eden Hazard won’t be ending any time soon as the Galacticos are trying to include James Rodriguez in a deal to bring the Belgian. They rate Hazard at €80 million and Rodriguez at €50 million and want to play €30 million plus the Colombian for the Belgian captain.
Chelsea, however, rate James at €30 million.
