Hello and welcome to the Premier League transfer news and rumours of the day! Here are the top stories of the surrounding the Premiership!
Real can sign Pogba
Real Madrid TV presenter Phil Kitromilides has claimed that Zidane is a huge fan of Paul Pogba and the Galacticos could benefit a lot in the PR aspect if they sign a big name like the United player.
“Paul Pogba is a player that Zinedine Zidane has publicly said he likes, and he doesn’t normally go into how much he likes players when he’s asked about them, so a lot of people read quite a bit into his comments.
“He is a player who, certainly from a PR perspective, would go down well with a section of fans who are asking for blockbuster signings after what has been a very disappointing season for Real Madrid.”
The Galacticos endured a difficult campaign where they failed to win a single trophy. As a result, Kitromilides thinks that the fans want major signings. He also added that he doesn’t know where Pogba could fit at the Bernabeu as the Galacticos have a plethora of talents in that position.
However, Madrid can make a big and bold statement in the transfer market by splashing the cash on the French World Cup winner, according to him.
“They finished third in LaLiga, 19 points behind Barcelona, and went out of the Champions League and Copa del Rey. They haven’t won anything and fans are demanding signings.
“With Pogba, I don’t know where he might fit in on the pitch, because Real Madrid also have quite a lot of good midfielders.
“But in terms of that PR exercise, he would be a big, big name and would probably cost a lot of money as well. It might be something Real Madrid are looking for in terms of getting those headlines out: ‘We are back, we are spending money again’.”
Arsenal interested in Radu
Arsenal are interested in signing goalkeeper Ionut Radu, who plays for Genoa on loan from Inter. The Gunners have been touted to make a move for a goalkeeper in the summer transfer window and it seems as though they have targeted the Serie A star
According to his representative Crescenzo Cecere, Arsenal are among the many clubs that are interested in acquiring the signature of the player. Cecere stated that Radu is a very talented shotstopper and has the potential to reach great heights.
“There are so many teams interested, including Lyon. Recently, there was also a survey from Arsenal.”
“He is a very interesting prospect since he is growing a lot, from all points of view”
Arsenal do need a goalkeeper with Bernd Leno not being the best option to have in between the sticks. But is Radu the best option?
Manchester madness
Yes, Manchester madness has come a little early tonight – which goes to show just how stacked we are today in the rumour mill. The Red Devils are expected to make a lot of signings in the market and they have been linked with two stars today.
According to reports, PSG defender Thomas Meunier is set to join Manchester United even though Arsenal manager personally intervened in an attempt to convince the Belgian to join him at Arsenal.
The French outfit are looking to recoup an amount of £25 million for the right-back.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are also said to be in the race for Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Old Trafford outfit have reportedly contacted Mino Raiola for the talented young goalkeeper.
David De Gea is yet to sign a new contract, putting United in a difficult position. The report also claimed that they English side will have to pay around €60 million for the shotstopper.
Tottenham transfers
Tottenham are just a few hours away from participating in the Champions League final against Liverpool. However, that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill from linking them to other players.
According to very reliable Gianluca Di Marzio, Spurs have actually been in contact with Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos. The Spaniard hasn’t had a fruitful time ever since joining the Galacticos and could be sold this summer.
The report also claimed that Spurs have already made a bid in range of €70 million for Real Betis’ Giovanni Lo Celso.
Meanwhile, reports from Spain claim that the Lilywhites are also looking at the possibility of signing Real Madrid target Luka Jovic. Their first goal is to secure the contract of Christian Eriksen – whose contract with the north Londoners ends in 2020 – and then the next target is to sign the Serbian superstar.
Story of the day
The beautiful thing about football is that every year, there is a new gem around the block who makes waves around the fraternity. This year, along with Luka Jovic, Joao Felix made a name for himself.
As a result, a plethora of clubs are interested in the young Portuguese – namely Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City. But it seems as though there is a new club in line for the superstar.
According to reports from Spain, Barcelona have entered the race for the teenager and are actually willing to pay €100 million for him, which is more than what Real Madrid wanted to pay (€80 million).
What do you think about this? Should Manchester United or Liverpool interfere and make a bigger bid or do you think that €100 million for a player with just one good season is too much?
