Hello and welcome to the Premier League latest transfer news and rumours of the day! Here are the top stories of the day surrounding the Premier League…
#5 Robben’s advice to Hudson-Odoi
It seems as though the biggest saga of the winter award should go to Callum Hudson-Odoi and Bayern Munich. The Bavarians have been linked with the move for the talented Chelsea youngster and now, even Arjen Robben has something to say about it.
Robben, who was once a part of Chelsea Football Club, lauded the youngster as one of the best in his age group and urged him to take the chances that fall in his way.
“He is one of the best (young players) in Europe,” Robben said.
“You are better off getting your chance and if you get that chance then you have to take it.
The Dutchman then added that young players should always take their chance and make a place for themselves in the first-team.
“For young players, it’s always the same. First, you have to take the big step to achieve it.
“Become a professional football player at the highest level, get into the first team, get your place.”
The former Real Madrid star continued philosophical viewpoint as he stated that keeping your place in the main team is harder than earning it in the first place, which is why it is essential to prove oneself in every single game and never be content with what has been achieved.

“Then, second, which can be more important, what’s sometimes missing is that you have to stay there.
“Staying there is often more difficult than actually becoming a footballer in the first place.
“You have to prove it, game after game, season after season and don’t be happy. Don’t just be happy when you achieve something little or small.”
#4 Danny Murphy is against top clubs signing in January
Former Tottenham star Danny Murphy is of the opinion that top clubs shouldn’t make signing in the January transfer window. While the January window gives teams the opportunity to make minor tweaks, Murphy is just not a fan of it.
According to him, players that arrive in the winter market have a very challenging task of adjusting themselves to a new team and culture in the middle of a season – especially given that everyone else in the team is in sync with the system.
“Why am I down on January signings? Because no matter how talented or strong you are, fitting into a new group in the middle of the season and making an impression is daunting,” he wrote.
“When you arrive, everyone else is in a rhythm, they know the training schedules, understand the manager’s philosophy and, most importantly, already have strong bonds and friendships in the dressing room.
#3 Carrasco has PL interest
Yannick Carrasco is perhaps eying a move back to Europe after joining the Chinese League last year. The Belgian apparently has offers from the Premier League and his wife has somewhat confirmed it.
According to her, “lots” of clubs are eying a move for the former Atletico Madrid star. She also revealed that the player has received offers from clubs in the top four leagues but none have been signed yet.
"There are lots of clubs looking at him," she said. "Lots of clubs have been in touch with him. Lots of clubs are interested.
"Yannick has received offers from Germany, Spain, England and Italy but nothing has been truly concrete up to now, nothing has been signed."
She then added that Manchester United are interested but an agreement hasn’t been reached.
"Yes, they [United] are very interested," she said. "I won't hide it from you but nothing has been signed."
#2 Spurs should spend
Liverpool legend Graeme Souness is of the opinion that Tottenham fans forget about winning titles if they continue relying on youth academy products for it. Only recently, Pochettino admitted that Spurs might have to change their transfer methods and Souness believes that he is right.
“I read a couple of weeks ago and (Pochettino) repeated it there that they have to operate in a different way,” Souness was quoted as saying.
While the former Liverpool superstar admitted that Manchester United’s class of 92 had brought them success, a repeat of that with Tottenham is highly unlikely in the current scope of how things work in the beautiful game of football.
“If you think of United and the Class of 92, that is the only team that brought a whole team through. If they are going to rely on youth players breaking through like Harry Kane, forget it, they won’t be challenging the big guys.”
#1 Chelsea and Liverpool
Chelsea’s name has been thrown around a lot lately as they seem to be on both the selling and buying end of things. The Blues have just recently sold Cesc Fabregas to Monaco and will need to buy a replacement for the Spaniard.
And according to Nicholo Schira on his Twitter account, the Blues want to sign Leandro Paredes from Zenit as the Londoners have made an offer worth €30 million for the midfielder and are awaiting the Russian outfit’s response.
Meanwhile, Don Balon have run a story that suggests that Real Madrid can sign Mohamed Salah from Liverpool as they could use Toni Kroos in a swap deal to bring the Egyptian. The German is said to be keen on a new challenge.
