Hello and welcome to the Premier League transfer roundup for the day! With the transfer window opening in just over a month’s time, clubs are fastening their seatbelts and so are the players. So without further ado, let’s begin!
#5 Cavani responds
After being linked to Chelsea, Edinson Cavani has responded to the rumours by quashing them
“My future is here, of course. I think that it has been a good season. We must enjoy moments like these,” he was quoted as saying by Read Chelsea.
“I am pleased for the supporters and to be here. Four consecutive Coupe de France wins represents a lot of history for PSG. We are here to win and win titles for the club.”
#4 Manchester City want Mahrez
After failing to acquire Riyad Mahrez in the last window, Manchester City haven’t given up hope of signing him in the future. The Foxes wanted £95 million for him and, as a result, City backed out. They will, however, face competition from Arsenal for him, report The Times.
Meanwhile, Everton are eyeing a new manager to take over from Sam Allardyce next season and they have identified Porto manager Sergio Conceicao as an apt replacement for the Englishman, says The Times.
#3 Dembele update
Craig Dawson is among the players whose team have been relegated, which means that he is available for a transfer in the summer – and Newcastle are willing to provide an escape route by making a £15 million move for him in the summer, report Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembele is a player wanted by Liverpool and Barcelona have named his price. Apparently, according to Don Balon, the Catalans will sell him if Liverpool offer €120 million for him.
#2 Liverpool make goalkeeper offer
Liverpool are apparently willing to “throw the house of the window” for Real Madrid target Alisson. According to Don Balon – who else? – Real Madrid have targeted the Brazilian to take over from Keylor Navas next season.
The Reds, however, have put a €80 million offer for the Brazilian goalkeeper as Jurgen Klopp, the report confidently adds, isn’t happy with the performances of his current goalkeepers Simon Mignolet and Lorius Karius.
#1 Manchester Madness
Manchester United and this transfer roundup is a better love story than Twilight – what isn’t anyway? – as the Red Devils have once again been linked with a star player from Real Madrid.
This time, however, it is not Gareth Bale or Toni Kroos, but their old target Raphael Varane. Don Balon state that Jose Mourinho’s team are willing to put £70 million for the defender in the summer – and the Frenchman is actually keen on it.
