Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has expressed his delight at being an Arsenal player and refuted claims that the Gunners wanted to sell him this summer.

The French striker joined the Emirates last summer and has picked up his form after a slow start to his life in London. The former Lyon striker stated that the Gunners had approached to sign him earlier but that didn’t happen because the timing wasn’t right.

However, Arsenal eventually signed him and he has also revealed that the club didn’t want to sell him in the summer.

"A few years ago I talked with Arsenal but it was not a good time,” he said.

"When they came I was so happy and the discussion with Arsenal and the club was so quick, and with me, it was so quick.

"The club is happy because this summer they didn't want to sell me; they told me 'we are happy to have you in the team'."
