No, this is not about Manuel Pellegrini being eyed as a possible replacement for Jose Mourinho at Manchester United. This is about Lorenzo Pellegrini of Roma. The forward is currently in great form for the Roman outfit and has been linked with a move to United.

However, his agent Giampiero Pocetta has played down the stories claiming that the stories might have bubbled out of hand due to the “economic aspects” concerning him.

“Manchester United? I am sorry that rumours could have spread on economic aspects related to him and his comrades, which did not matter to Lorenzo, he does not live comparisons, especially economic ones," he said.

He then added that Pellegrini is happy at Rome now and that moving to another club doesn’t bother him at the moment. He, however, added that they will sit with Roma director Monchi when the time comes.

“These issues don’t count for now - it’s normal that Pellegrini is liked. Lorenzo is happy, though, he’s already chosen Roma once.

“Then, when it’s time, we’ll sit down with Monchi again.”
