#2 Manchester United madness
During the summer transfer window, Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was linked to the Red Devils. In the end, the player’s high price-tag may have put off the Old Trafford outfit as he ended up staying with the Italian outfit.
However, according to Lazio president Claudio Lotito, it would be very hard for them to keep their prized asset should a big club come with a financially sound offer.
“Nowadays it’s very complicated for a player to tie himself to a club for his entire career. […] Unfortunately, Lazio don’t have the economic power of Barcelona and Real Madrid, so if a once-in-a-lifetime offer comes in, it’d pose a problem or us,” he said.
Meanwhile, Anthony Martial’s contractual situation means that there is no dearth of clubs interested in acquiring his signature. The Frenchman’s current contract expires in the summer of 2019 but United have the option to extend by a year.
According to Sky Sports, however, Chelsea and Juventus are circling around the Frenchman and could make an attempt to sign him in January.
