Icardi is on Madrid and Chelsea's radar

Mauro Icardi is one of Europe’s hottest strikers. The Argentine is Inter’s biggest star and is on the radar of Real Madrid and Chelsea. As a result, former Arsenal player Paul Mariner has given his opinion on the Blues signing Mauro Icardi.

According to him, there are a number of factors playing a role here. One is Inter’s desire to sell the player and the other is whether he would actually fit the bill in the Premier League.

“Can they get Icardi? Will they want to sell him? I wouldn’t want to sell him,” said Paul Mariner.

“So would it be a good move? I’m not quite sure.

“Sarri knows way better than I do whether he would fit into Chelsea and fit into the Premier League.”

Mariner then added that while he is a fan of Alvaro Morata, Icardi’s ability to find the net frequently would make him a good signing for the Blues.

“He’s a goalscorer, he puts the ball in the back off the net for fun. So, I like Morata, I’ve been banging the drum for him. But I’m going to say that would be a good move for Chelsea.”
