Marcos Alonso glad to sign a new contract

Marcos Alonso has signed a new contract with Chelsea that will keep him with the Blues till 2023. After signing the extension, the Spaniard stated that he is ecstatic to elongate his stay with the Stamford Bridge outfit.“I am so happy to stay here longer and to keep playing for one of the best teams in the world,” he said.

“It’s been a very good two seasons and I am looking forward to more.”

Meanwhile, former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff has stated that he wanted Gareth Bale to join Manchester United – but not for sporting reasons. Bale has been linked with the Red Devils for a long time now but the former England cricketer wanted him to sign for a different reason.

“I’ve always followed Bale’s career but not always for sporting reasons," he told.

"A few seasons ago I was desperate for United to sign him because I was looking to flog my house and apparently, he was interested. In the end his move didn't go through so neither did mine!”
