Hello and welcome to the Premier League transfer roundup for the day! Cristiano Ronaldo is once again stealing the headlines and so is his Real Madrid team-mate. So without further ado, here’s what the fuss is all about!
#5 Palace and West Ham-Leicester
According to Scottish Sun, James Taverinier could leave Ibrox as Crystal Palace are the Premier League club that is interested in acquiring his signature and bring him to Selhurst Park in the summer.
Meanwhile, Express state that two clubs are vying for the signature of Manchester City’s talented forward Patrick Roberts, who is on loan at Celtic. West Ham and Leicester are prepared to sign him permanently for around £15 million.
#4 Hazard lifts the lid
Eden Hazard has claimed that he will wait before committing to a new deal because he wants to see which players Chelsea could sign in the summer.
“That’s why I’m taking my time," he said. "It is something big, so I will need to think of a lot of things. But one thing is for sure, I’m happy here.
“I’m waiting for new players next season. You know. We'll see. I want good players because I want to win next season the Premier League. Yeah, a lot of things, then we will see.
“Trophies are important. Premier League, Europa League, Champions League. It’s more important for me as I’ve never won this one [the FA Cup]. I need two more trophies – the Champions League and FA Cup.”
#3 Fred’s admission and Newcastle
Manchester United and Manchester City target Fred has opened the lid on his future aspirations.
‘There are other clubs interested in England and France. I want to make a bigger leap, I made it clear to the club,” he was quoted by Metro.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United have been credited with an interest for free-agent Abel Hernandez by Birmingham Live. They are not alone, however, as Premier League-elect Wolves are also in the mix to sign him.
#2 Liverpool
Starting off with Liverpool, the Merseyside outfit are set to sign Chelsea-reject Isaac Christie-Davies on a free transfer after the Londoners released him from his contract, according to ESPN sources.
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp, who is known to sign underrated players and turn them into absolute gems, has set his sights on Real Madrid’s perennially underappreciated star Lucas Vazquez, say Don Balon.
#1 Update on Cristiano move
So here we are. Yesterday, Don Balon claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo could go to Manchester United in the summer. And today, Diario Gol back up that claim while also adding further details of the offer.
They report that Jose Mourinho wants to make his compatriot the flagship of his project and is willing to let go of Paul Pogba and £50 million for Cristiano Ronaldo. If, however, Madrid refuse the Frenchman, then United will make an offer worth £150 million.
