Hello and welcome to the Premier League roundup for 29th March. As the title suggests, we are in for a ride today. So without further ado, here we go!
#5 Everton and Watford
With his contract winding down this summer, Jack Wilshere is a man who needs to sort out where he will play next season and if rumours from the Daily Star are to be believed, then Everton are the ones leading the race to sign the Englishman.
On the other side, Mirror says that Watford may have to sell one of Doucoure and Richarlison in order to keep their finances secure. Despite making a £4 million profit last season, they may have to sell in order to stick with their policy of buying rough diamonds and selling them for cheap.
#4 Newcastle and Arsenal
Rafa Benitez might not yet have secured a Premier League stay for next season, but that hasn’t stopped him from looking for new players that could help them make a better team as he has targeted Yoshinori Muto of Mainz, say Kicker.
Meanwhile, Caglar Soyuncu is on Arsenal’s radar as they want to sign the talented defender, who is rated at £30 million, and look to solve their defensive crisis, says Daily Mail. He has also drawn attention from a host of European clubs that includes Liverpool and Manchester United.
#3 Manchester madness
Jose Mourinho has apparently made it is his obsession to sign Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich according to La Cuarta in a deal that could be worth up to £42 million and with an annual salary of £12.8 million.
Meanwhile, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola has contacted Isco and apparently wants him at the club and is willing to double the wages that he gets at Real Madrid while also promising him that he would be a key man at the Etihad, say El Chiringuito TV
#2 Tottenham
The hunt for a midfielder to take over the reins from Mousa Dembele is on with Tottenham Hotspur looking at Bruno Fernandes to solve the backup conundrum. The midfielder is in the form of his life and has a €100 million release clause, which Spurs might have to pay, reveal A Bola.
Meanwhile, Mateo Kovacic is still on Tottenham’s radar, but the bad news for the Lilywhites is that neither Real Madrid nor Mateo Kovacic wants the deal to go through. Despite that, Kovacic has a long list of admirers in Europe, say AS.
#1 Liverpool’s love-affairs with goalkeepers
If rumours from the Mirror are to be believed then Liverpool are confident about bringing Jack Butland from Stoke City for £40 million and solve their goalkeeping conundrum, making it a record deal for a goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, a cheaper alternative has been named by Miotraliga in the form of Iker Casillas. The legendary Spaniard’s contract with Porto is set to expire in the summer and while there is a chance that he could renew it, Liverpool could snatch him for free first.
