Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc insists that he has no interest in bidding for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, who is on a warpath with his club and claims to be ‘angry and confused’ with the treatment meted out to him by his present club.
The pending issue between United and the 27-year-old footballer has been the topic of discussion among many Manchester United fans throughout this summer.
However, Chelsea are believed to be leading the race in a bid for Rooney though the Blues have already received a thumbs down from United manager David Moyes, who refuted claims of trading off the talented English footballer.
Ligue 1 winners Paris Saint-Germain were among the top contenders to sign Rooney until yesterday, till former French footballer and current manager of the French club Laurent Blanc dismissed reports of him showing interest in the United striker, especially since the arrival of Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani from Napoli.
“He is an amazing player, his qualities are well known by everyone,” Blanc told reporters. “But in attack we are well supplied.
“We will rather look for players in midfield. If there should be another reinforcement, it should be in that position.
“Rooney could play anywhere, but his best position is in the heart of attack.”
