What's the story?
Paris Saint-Germain defender Dani Alves has hinted at a possible move to the English top flight before he hangs up his boots.
In case you didn't know
Alves has enjoyed an illustrous career having played for the likes of Barcelona and Juventus before his move to the Parisiens. The Brazil international boasts being the most decorated player in the history of professional football with several titles to his name.
The defender began his unparalleled trophy haul with the regional Copa del Noroeste in Brazil in 2002 before moving to Sevilla where he won five titles.
His stint at Barcelona, between 2008 and 2016, has proven to be his most successful spell with six LaLiga titles, four Copas, four Supercopa de Espana wins, three Champions Leagues, three UEFA Super Cups, and three Club World Cups all won with the Catalan giants.
Alves went on to win the Serie A and the Coppa Italia with Juventus in the 2016/17 season before moving to PSG, where he has won the French Super Cup, the League Cup and the Ligue 1.
The heart of the matter
Conquering half of Europe's top five leagues appears to not be enough for the former Barcelona star as he is looking towards the Premier League as a possible destination before retirement.
Speaking in an interview with ESPN, Alves said, "It [Premier League] is not a dream, because I make my dreams come true with effort. I've said I would like it.
"It is a very exciting league; they feel a lot of respect and what I like is the respect they have for the professional player. If he gives his all, they respect him. And here, in the rest of Europe, it looks like that if you don't win matches then you don't get any respect. I don't have that problem, I'm a winner."
When asked about an adventure in England before retiring, he added, "That's the goal, and it's on the back burner."
What's next?
PSG are set to face Stade Reims in Ligue 1 later tonight.
