Right-back: Achraf Hakimi (PSG)
Achraf Hakimi has developed into a world-class full-back over the last few years, although the going has been tough lately for him with PSG.
The Moroccan hasn't scored or assisted in their last ten league games. However, he remains vital in terms of offering width down the flanks and making exquisite crosses.
Centre-back: Guillermo Maripan (AS Monaco)
The Monegasques have the joint fourth-best defensive record in Ligue 1 this season (20 goals conceded in 17). Guillermo Maripan has had a big role to play in it.
He's positionally aware, and reads the game brilliantly, making vital clearances. He has also averaged 90% successful passes in the league. PSG will provide Maripan a tough test of his skills, though.
Centre-back: Marquinhos (PSG)
Marquinhos is more than just a defender. He's PSG's captain fantastic, a saviour and a battering ram for opposition attackers.
The Brazilian is having another fine season in 2021-22, averaging 3.8 clearances per match while also chipping in with three goals.
Left-back: Caio Henrique (AS Monaco)
Caio Henrique has already equalled his assist tally of five from last season in just 15 games this time, showing his growing influence in the team. It's also the joint-most in the Monaco squad.
The Brazilian has brought about a new dimension to their attack, with his penchant for key passes and deadly link-up play.
