Look at the above picture! Are you watching closely? Mind you, these are not your ordinary football boots. Puma’s new football boots are destined to change the game of football forever. Still cannot see properly. Well, grab a pair of 3D glasses.
Yes, for the first time in the sport, Puma has launched a boot featuring a stereoscopic 3D pattern on the upper. This is just a preview of the revolutionary evoSPEED SL that will hit the stores in July 2015. The Camo version hit the stores in mid-June.
We what really love is that Puma is shipping a pair of 3D glasses along with these boots (talk about product support).
These are one of the lightest football shoes available in the market. They weigh only 103 grams (lighter than your iPhone); they are slightly heavier than Adidas Adizero Crazylight 99g. Hence the name SL – Super Light.
Regarding the styling, this boot features red, cyan and white colors. Puma has used these colors to create an amazing stereoscopic pattern when viewed with 3D glasses.
Regarding the upper, it features an ultra-thin and ultra-light textile material. This should offer great ball touch and will keep the wright to the minimum. If you are worried about the stability due to the ultra-thin materials, do not fear. These boots also feature a skeleton for better lockdown and stability (something similar to XCAGE of Adidas X 15.1).
Puma designed a completely new soleplate for this shoe. This nylon sole plate is ultra-thin and ultra-light but offers mind-blogging levels of strength-to-weight ratio.
It features an external heel counter for added stability. Along with this, it boasts a unique stud pattern. It has only three studs in the heel area and seven studs in the forefoot area. Puma chose to combine both the triangular stud configuration and conical stud configuration. Get ready to experience unparalleled acceleration levels along with tremendous levels of rotational agility. Puma just pushed the bar a lot higher for all other football boot manufactures.
The bad news is that these football boots are not durable. They only last for about 10 games. Therefore, these boots are only for the match day. Definitely no practice with these boots. If you are careful with these boots, they might even last longer but still do not expect any miracles here. If you are lucky enough to grab a pair, do use them wisely. You may not get a chance to grab another.
Only 500 pairs are available worldwide. If you want to grab a pair, run for it right now. They retail at a price of $250 i.e., around 16,000 INR and are available at select online retailers.
After Nike’s Hypervenom Transform, this is the next coolest thing in football in 2015.
Bottom-line: Next time you visit a football game, be sure to carry a pair of 3D glasses with you.
