QPR host Preston North End at Loftus Road on Saturday for their clash in the EFL Championship as both sides look to continue their unbeaten run in the competition. Having narrowly survived relegation last season, the Rangers sit perilously close to the drop zone once again following another treacherous run.
They've won just four times from 21 outings so far and languish in 18th position in the standings with just 22 points in the bag.
But things have been on the up lately for them. Martí Cifuentes' side are unbeaten in six consecutive league games right now, their best run of the season. Moreover, three of their four wins of the campaign have come within the last month alone.
Such an upturn in form has seen them come out of the relegation zone, but they must continue the momentum to put more daylight between them and the bottom three.
Interestingly, their rivals find themselves in a similar position right now, having accumulated just a point more at this stage. Preston, too, have won just four games so far, with their latest victory coming on 11 December against Cardiff City (2-0).
Just like QPR, the Lancashire outfit are unbeaten in their last six Championship games and coming off the back of a 1-1 draw with Leeds United. They were inches away from a win, as Bradley Potts' first-half strike had them in front until stoppage time. But Jack Whatmough restored parity for the Peacocks in the 93rd minute, denying Preston a fifth league win of the season.
