Monaco striker Radamel Falcao hopes he has impressed Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho in Colombia’s 2-0 friendly win over Belgium on Thursday.

The Blues boss attended the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels to see the Colombian add to his international tally with yet another strike this season.

Chelsea have long been linked with a move for the former Atletico Madrid star, who signed for French side Monaco for £50 million last summer.

But Falcao dropped a hint for reporters in Brussels, as he admitted that he hoped that Mourinho would be impressed by what he saw in the match.

“I don’t know if he [Mourinho] was impressed by what he saw – I hope I made a good impression on him,” Falcao said.

The Colombia star also revealed his admiration for the Premier League but insisted that he is happy at Monaco, fending off speculation that he was actively seeking a move away after just three months into the campaign.

“The Premier League is one of the most important leagues in the world but I’m playing well and enjoying Monaco at the moment.”

Falcao has netted nine times in 13 appearances for Monaco so far in Ligue 1 – with a sensational conversion rate of 29 per cent from 31 shots.
