Spanish giants Real Madrid have been heavily liked with a move for double Footballer of the Year from Tottenham in a £60million switch and Sergio Ramos has urged the Welshman to make the move.
“Gareth Bale is a Real Madrid-quality signing. He has had an exceptional season. He can punish any team in the world and has the footballing qualities we look for in Madrid.
“I am sure Madrid will not be the only team that want to sign him — but he is the right mould for us.”
Real eye Bale as the ideal replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been linked with a move to the likes of PSG, Manchester United and Chelsea.
The Spaniards hope their chances of landing the Welshman would have increased after Tottenham failured to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
But Bale has dropped a massive hint he is ready to delight Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas and sign a new four-year deal with the Londoners worth £150,000 a week.
Bale said: “We fought hard this season, the team and the manager have been great.
“We have got the record points (72) for the club in the Premier League.
“That would normally be enough to qualify for the Champions League. We will just have to regroup and give it another go.”
Real’s former president Ramon Calderon, who helped secure Kaka , said: “Everyone wants Bale. Should they pay £80m for Bale? If you have it, why not? Money is better on the field than in the bank.”
