#8 Bruno Fernandes | Manchester United
Bruno Fernandes is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League at the moment.
During the 2018-19 season, Fernandes scored a stunning 33 goals in all competitions for Porto. That was the most scored by any midfielder in Europe in a season.
It was little surprise when Manchester United brought the star on board to address the team's dwindling creativity. After a great start to life at Old Trafford, the star scored an impressive 18 Premier League goals in his sophomore season in 2020-21.
This season, his form has dwindled somewhat, with Fernandes scoring just five goals in 17 Premier League games. However, these are still good numbers for a brilliant, dynamic midfielder. The star has also picked up three assists this campaign, making him one of Manchester United's most creative players.
#7 Kevin De Bruyne | Manchester City (three-time Premier League winner)
Capable of unlocking any defence with a brilliantly weighted through-pass, the Belgian international has been a key player for Pep Guardiola's side.
Joining Manchester City just over half a decade ago, Kevin De Bruyne has become a key cog in their midfield. He bagged 13 goals and 20 assists in the 2019-20 Premier League season.
Last season, the Belgian ace wasn't able to reach those stunning heights, but still bagged six goals and 12 assists in the Premier League. This season, De Bruyne has scored five goals in 14 league games while also registering an assist.
More recently, De Bruyne has found form, picking up three goals and an assist in in his last four Premier League games.
#6 N'Golo Kante | Chelsea (two-time Premier League winner)
For someone who played for Caen in Ligue 1 only half a decade ago, N'Golo Kante has had a phenomenal rise. The 30-year-old enjoyed a Premier League-winning stint with Leicester City before moving to Chelsea in the summer of 2016. Now, he is the dynamo of Thomas Tuchel's midfield.
Last season, Kante managed two interceptions and three tackles per game in the Premier League. This season, the diminutive dynamo has slowed down on the defensive side of things.
However, his ability to kickstart counterattacks has been highly useful for the Blues. He remains useful in shutting down attacks, having made 18 tackles and 11 interceptions so far this season.
#5 Ruben Dias | Manchester City (2021 Premier League winner)
Manchester City needed a defensive stalwart after Vincent Kompany's exit, and Pep Guardiola seems to have found the answer in Ruben Dias.
City splashed the cash to snap him up from Benfica last year, and his performances have been consistently world-class for the Cityzens. In his debut season, Dias became a key piece in Guardiola's puzzle, locking down the defence and guiding City to the 2020-21 Premier League title.
This season, the centre-back has picked up two goals and as many assists in 19 Premier League games.
The star has been in good form in front of goal, scoring and assisting once apiece in his last three Premier League games. Dias has managed 21 tackles and 17 interceptions so far this season, helping City concede only 12 times in 20 league games.
